The next time you're in Tokyo, make a stop at Taishu Sakaba Banpaiya Kitakanto Furusatohen, one of the newer restaurants in FUNDES Ueno. The chain-type restaurant, more popularly known as Banpaiya, has new branches rapidly opening everywhere, especially in the northern Kanto region (Gunma, Tochigi, and Ibaraki).
In addition to the classic menu, customers also have the option to order the Kita Kanto menu and choose local dishes inspired by the specialties in each of the three prefectures, with prices that go for as low as ¥100.
Konnyaku Sashimi is the specialty of Gumma.
Potato Fries is a dish included in the menu of Tochigi.
These local dishes are super affordable--they're within the range of ¥130 only!
Aside from the dishes, customers can also enjoy the specialty drinks from Kita Kanto. They serve the Tochiotome Sour from Tochigi, Akagiyama from Gunma, and many other local beers from each prefecture. They also have a three-prefecture competition wherein the most popular domestic beef and beer from Kita Kanto are decided upon.
Banpaiya is highly regarded by its customers because of its affordable prices and food quality--they don’t use instant products for their dishes. Best of all, one serving can be shared with another person.
