If you love cheesecakes, then you should definitely try sweets from Akai Fusen, a popular pâtisserie in Fukuoka. Their extremely famous Fondant Fromage (¥1,728) is so good that it won first place at the 2nd Fukuoka Tenjin Sweets General Election last 2013.
A closer look reveals its finer distinctions. For starters, this fluffy soufflé cheesecake is stuffed with gooey cheese custard that is so smooth, it almost spills out during baking. The custard is made of carefully selected ingredients like Camembert and Gouda cheese, making the flavor rich and sharp. They also use ASO MILK from Kyushu, which is rated three stars, the highest by the International Taste and Quality Institute in 2013.
Talk about setting the bar high!
