These Tokyo Parfaits Magically Transform When Viewed From a Tablet
Enjoy a totally new sweets experience!
At Tyffonium, you can enjoy combined VR and AR entertainment. Tyffonium Café, which opened in the B1/F of Shibuya PARCO, has an overall concept of “Twilight Circus.” The cafe turns into an illusionary circus in the middle of the afternoon and lets its customers experience a magical time.
Since its launch, it has gained widespread popularity and has been featured in a TV program “Osamano Brunch.” We visited the cafe to find out what the hype was all about.
B1/F Shibuya PARCO, 15-1 Udagawa-cho, Shibuya District, Tokyo
Open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
The cafe has five kinds of magic parfaits. Each of them has a different footage that you can view.
Once you cast the tablet, you’ll immediately see the change.
The cafe’s Magic Parfait combines AR (Augmented Reality) and sweets. You can see the footage when you view the parfait through the tablet in the shop.
Twilight (¥1,200), a blueberry and red grape parfait, features a dog in an astronaut outfit swinging from a crescent moon in the night sky. The parfait’s magical transformation, when viewed from a tablet, is why it’s called “Magic Parfait.”
The before and after photos of the Twilight magic parfait
All in all, there are five magic parfaits available at the cafe. What you’ll see will largely differ according to the parfait you order. The parfaits are supervised by GAKU—who is famous for the “Night Parfait”—so you can expect great flavors. Try ordering with your family and enjoy viewing the different designs of the parfait!
Corridor (¥1,400), a cassis and chocolate parfait
Pierrot (¥1,000), a yuzu and cheesecake parfait
Circus (¥1,200), a pineapple and hazelnut parfait
Tarot (¥1,400), a peach and yogurt parfait
Besides the parfaits, the cafe is also offering the Tyffonium Chocolate (¥1,000), which you can eat in-store or as take-out.
Something happens when you load the QR of the chocolate.
When you load the picture on the chocolate with a smartphone, a cute character will pop out and send you a cute message. There are four types of messages: “Happy Birthday”, “For You”, “Thank You”, and “Tyffonium.”
You won’t even need to download any applications for this, so it’s also great for souvenirs. The cute characters saying their message is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.
“Voyage of Levery ~An Illusionary Journey~”, a tarot VR
You can also find a little attraction in the cafe called “Voyage of Levery ~An Illusionary Journey.” It is a tarot VR that lets you experience traveling through the world of tarot cards. There are 22 types of worlds and you’ll have to choose a card depicting the kind of fortune-telling you want. Afterwards, a high-quality panoramic view will appear before you.
You can interact using the controller and feel as if you’re really there inside the world of tarot cards. You can also choose to do this with another person at the same time.
Tyffonium Café is defying expectations by giving their customers a completely unique dining experience. Why not visit the cafe and experience the magic yourself?
