Shaved Ice Meets Cake In this New Japanese Dessert
This special treat is only available for a limited time!
A new kind of shaved ice from AKOMEYA TOKYO has been released--and it is only available from June 26 to August 31 in AKOMEYA Kitchen and AKOMEYA Shokudo stores.
With the theme, “shaved ice that is like a cake”, expect fine, fluffy ice topped with a special cream in this exciting new dessert. Incorporating homemade rice bran cookies into the cake-like cream that’s made with whipped cream, condensed milk, and mildly sweet syrup makes this shaved ice one-of-a-kind. Shiratama (rice flour dumplings) from Shiratamaya Shinsaburo, a long-established store in Kumamoto, is also added for that unique chewy and fluffy melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
AKOMEYA TOKYO’s new shaved ice is like a cake!
A must-try, the Kakigori Yame Matcha Kintoki Cream (￥1,200) is made by pouring Yame matcha cream which has a little bitterness over a sweet Yame matcha syrup that’s mixed with purely local sugar called sanuki wasanbou. With the addition of the ogura-an or red bean paste, this variant is indeed packed full of flavor.
This Kakigori Lemon Cream is nothing but refreshing.
Love the sweet and tangy flavor combo? Try the Kakigori Lemon Cream (￥1,200) which has a thick syrup made with lemon curd containing Setouchi lemon, butter, and egg yolk and is topped with a refreshing lemon cream to boot. Furthermore, the lemon slices in this dessert make it even more Instagram-worthy!
Kakigori Ichigo Cream reminds us of the strawberry shortcake.
Kakigori Ichigo Cream (￥1,200), on the other hand, is for the fans of strawberry and milk. With fresh strawberry bits and strawberry cream-flavored condensed milk, this shaved ice has that no-fail classic flavor everyone will love.
Sweet and juicy Kakigori Japanese Chestnut Cream Kuromitsu Kinako
Limited to AKOMEYA Kitchen Ginza Honten, Kakigori Japanese Chestnut Cream Kuromitsu Kinako (￥1,500) is a shaved ice that brings out the goodness of each ingredient. Particularly, the refined sweetness of kinako kuromitsu (roasted soybean flour and brown sugar syrup) and Japanese chestnut feels like home.
