Mashu Soft-Serve Ice Cream Inspired by Mashu Lake

Mashu Lake or Kamuito means “lake of god” in the Ainu language, which is spoken by the Ainu ethnic group on the island of Hokkaido. This body of water is one of the most transparent lakes in the world. When you visit Mashu Lake, don’t forget to try the delicious Mashu Soft at the rest house located below the first observation deck.
The ice cream’s color takes inspiration from Mashu Lake’s blue surface. Aside from the ice cream, you can also get your hands on the bath salt called Kamuiishu no yu (¥150)--this can change the color of water in your tub into the same hue as Mashu Lake’s!
Shakotan Blue Soft-Serve Ice Cream Inspired by Cape Kamui

Located at the northwest end of Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido, Cape Kamui is a well-known destination visited by around 400,000 people a year. From the promenade all the way to the edge, you’ll see the blue ocean fittingly called Shakotan Blue. While you’re there, make sure to try the Shakotan Blue Soft at Kamui Banya, a shop located at the entrance of the promenade.
For a refreshing treat, try this vanilla soft-serve ice cream with a dash of mint! However, if you’re not a fan of ice cream, there’s a drink called Hokkaido Shakotan Blue Ramune (¥270).

With a deep larch and clear blue surface, the mysterious-looking Blue Pond seems like a painting. This popular tourist spot’s beauty has inspired the creation of Blue Pond Soft, a soft-serve ice cream that you can purchase at Xiangmai Shokudo inside Michinoeki Biei. Blue Pond Soft’s popularity has escalated in March of last year when it appeared in Michinoeki Biei (roadside rest area) Okanokura.
