branch in Kyoto, located next to department store Daimaru Kyoto. Managed by Doutor Coffee, one of the most famous Japanese retail companies specializing in coffee, it’s the perfect reward after a day of sightseeing and shopping.

The cafe only serves two kinds of coffee:
Hiiri (¥756) is created with highly valued Geisha coffee beans produced in Guatemala and have a rich rose fragrance. Meanwhile, Tsukiiri (¥756) is created with equally valued Typica coffee beans produced in El Salvador.

They extract the coffee with a siphon.

Only the highest quality coffee beans are used.

To achieve the highest rank of taste, Kanno Coffee buys their coffee beans directly from local producers and keeps them in a special storehouse in fixed temperature. They roast the beans for a long time over a low flame in an oven, which only enhances their natural smell and mild flavor.

Furthermore, as they brew coffee by a siphon, the flavor and taste are marinated to the fullest. This method also keeps the flavor intact even when cold.

“We serve luxurious coffee that we made with special attention to the selection of [the] coffee bean, the way of roasting and extraction. We recommend you taste it with sweets and [a] light meal in keeping with Kyoto,” says cafe managing director and director of Specialty Coffee Association of Japan Kanno.

This cafe also offers substantial light meals and sweets. From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., they serve the Morning Menu where you only pay for the drinks. Toast, boiled egg, and salad are offered free. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., they serve the Coffee Lunch Menu that features their sandwiches and spaghetti. From 3 p.m. onwards, they serve the Tea Time Set that comes with delicious cake.

This Uji Powdered Tea Bavarois and Unbaked Cheese (¥648) is an elegant two-layer bavarois with Wasanbon sugar.

The Classic Mix Sandwich (¥756) comes with seasonal fruits.

In the shop, you can appreciate Japanese beauty and sense of extravagance.

The refined atmosphere is a mix of Western and Japanese.
