Where to Enjoy All-You-Can-Eat Courses in Japan For Cheap

For anyone who loves food, finding a restaurant with an extensive all-you-can-eat menu is the greatest joy. Luckily, the Tokai region in Japan has a few notable restaurant chains that offer cheap, unlimited shabu-shabu courses paired with dishes like sushi, kushi-age (skewered meat and vegetables), and fresh vegetables.
Here are four shabu-shabu restaurants worth visiting in the Nagoya and Yokkaichi cities.
Shabuyo - Horita Branch
24-55 Shinkaicho, Mizuho-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture
Open from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. daily
The 100-minute eat-all-you-can dinner course is available from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. It is priced at ¥3,347 for adults, ¥2,159 for elementary school students, and ¥647 for toddlers. On weekends and holidays, it is priced at ¥3,455 for adults and ¥2,267 for elementary school students.
Shabuyo is a shabu-shabu chain that offers seven all-you-can-eat courses, including both lunch and dinner. It is mainly available in the Aichi, Gifu, and Mie branches.
Here, you can enjoy locally produced beef, Sangenton-breed pork, premium pork, blue-ribbon pork, tsukune (a chicken meatball made with egg), fresh vegetables, rice, noodles, and 11 kinds of sushi. Lunch is available starting at a budget-friendly price of ¥1,079, while dinner is worth ¥3,347 on weekdays and ¥3,455 on weekends and holidays.
The restaurant’s tare (a Japanese sauce) bar is also widely popular among customers. You can choose from 20 types of tare and spices there. The bar has seasonal sauces as well, such as the tom yam kung tare and honey tare.
Shabu-shabu Ichiban - Sakae Store
4/F Eari Building, 4-5-8 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture
Open from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily and 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. on weekends and holidays.
The 90-minute eat-all-you-can course is available from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. It is priced at ¥2,500 for adults and ¥1,250 for elementary school children. Children below elementary school can eat for free.
Shabu-shabu Ichiban is a restaurant located at the center of the Aichi Prefecture. It serves flavorful sukiyaki and kani-nabe (crab hot pots).
One of the restaurant’s specialty dishes, the Two-Colored Soup Japanese Plum Course (¥2,500), lets you choose from 14 different types of soups like dried kelp, soy milk, and Sichuan spicy soup. You can also pick from beef, pork, or chicken to pair with your preferred soup.
Yuzuan - Nagoya Hirabari Branch
4-207 Hirabari Tenpaku-ku Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture
Open from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. daily. Lunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The 100-minute eat-all-you-can course is available from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. It is priced at ¥3,218 for adults, ¥1,609 for elementary school children, and ¥2,718 for adults 65 years and above.
At Yuzuan, you can enjoy an eat-all-you-can sushi, shabu-shabu, and kushiage for ¥3,218. They offer this particularly in the Aichi and Gifu branches.
The course features 95 dishes including beef shabu-shabu, Sangenton-breed pork, kushiage, sushi, and desserts.
If you visit before 2:30 p.m., you can enjoy their all-you-can-eat lunch that will set you back by ¥2,138.
Pure Na - Yokkaichi Branch
1-19 Shimizucho, Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture
Open from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays, and 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The lunch buffet without time limit is available from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (register by 2:30 p.m.), while the dinner buffet without time limit is available from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (order by 8:45 p.m.) on Fridays and Saturdays.
Prices for the buffet are ¥1,500 (lunch) and ¥2,150 (dinner) for adults, ¥950 for children, ¥550 for toddlers, ¥1,300 (lunch) and ¥1,750 (dinner) for seniors.
Pure Na is a restaurant that serves a healthy buffet that is specially prepared by a vegetable sommelier. The dishes are made with fresh vegetables such as angelica, New Zealand spinaches, Jew’s mallow, and Chinese water spinaches. Aside from this, the restaurant also serves pork shabu-shabu during dinner time.
Their predominantly vegetable menu allows you to eat anything you want, and at the same time, gives you the satisfaction of eating healthy.
The buffet is available at the Nagoya Sakae, Yokkaichi, and Tsu branches.
