Many cafés in Japan have become popular for having Instagram-worthy interiors, food, and beverages. Of these, the Chita Peninsula has no shortage.
Hatake Café Rainbow Art
At Hatake Café Rainbow Art, you can enjoy fish and seafood fresh from the Toyohama fishing port and vegetables made by Chita Peninsula’s organic gardeners.
Aside from this, the café cares a whole lot about what they put inside their dishes. They make use of ingredients grown by the owners through natural farming and create their sweets without using white sugar.
There are also several picture books available for your children inside the café.
You can choose the main dish—meat, fish, or vegetable—when you order the Lunch Plate (¥1,000).
The café’s modern and fancy space was made by converting a 70-year-old house.
The Hatake Café Rainbow Art is located at 95 Nomasuga, Mihama-chou, Chita-gun, Aichi. They’re open on the 1st to the 16th of every month from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Lunch is until 3 p.m.). The café is closed from the 17th to the end of every month.
MADOYAMA, located in Tokoname City, is a sister shop of the popular café and goods store known as ni:no. Its first floor is a space displaying crafts and pottery made by a local artist, while its second floor is a café where you can enjoy home-made curry and parfaits.
MADOYAMA’s most popular lunch items are made from seasonal vegetables purchased from local markets and can be eaten within the spacious shop.
Their Curry (¥1,296) contains lots of seasonal vegetables. Enjoy it with a salad and a drink!
The refurbished store has a very relaxing atmosphere.
At the first floor, you can find classy items such as pottery and crafts made by selected local artists.
MADOYAMA is located at 3-111 Sakaemachi, Tokoname City, Aichi. They’re pen from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Last order at 4 p.m.). Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. until it runs out. The café is closed on the year-end and during New Year’s holidays.
Café Novatann is a fashionable café that fits in perfectly at its location in the old city of Chita. The café’s nostalgic atmosphere comes from the fact that it used to be a private house and a maternity center. Today, the space is used as a place for gathering and chatting with friends or family members.
At the café, you can choose from cakes, waffles, and lunch meals made with local ingredients.
The Vegetable and Seafood Steaming Pot (¥1,180) includes coarse rice, salad, and a drink.
The café’s interiors have a simple yet cozy design.
Café Novatann is located at 10 Okadadandobou, Chita City, Aichi. They’re open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. until it runs out. The café is closed on Sundays and on the second and third Mondays of each month.
root serves healthy menu items such as coarse coffee and amazake (a sweet fermented rice drink) made from brown rice. You can enjoy your main courses with half-milled rice, brown rice, and delicious plates of vegetables.
Aside from this, artworks are also sold at the place.
Today’s Lunch (¥1,280) is prepared with Chita Peninsula’s vegetables. It is served with appetizers, rice, and some miso soup.
