These Restaurants in Japan Are a Must-Visit for Curry Lovers
Chinese curry is quickly becoming popular in Japan's curry industry. There are two distinctions: unique curry that use Chinese ingredients and those that are called the Chinese restaurant's curry.

Keema Curry with Mabo Tofu (Lunch: ¥850, Dinner: ¥950) from the Modern Lovers is our pick for the "Unique Curry" category. Minced meat is typically used for the Mabo Tofu, but here, they blend it in with the keema curry served with turmeric rice. Chinese spices and condiments such as the Sichuan pepper, bean chili paste, and oyster sauce are used in this Chinese-style curry.
We recommend adding extra Chinese chili bean paste for those who enjoy a bit more heat. Since this is only available once a week for the lunch menu, make sure to pre-order this dish at least a day before.

Tourimichi's Gohan ga Susumu Curry Mabo Tofu (¥1,058) is our pick for the "Chinese Restaurant's Curry." Instead of using traditional curry spices like garam masala, they use tomatoes to add flavor. Their original spice made from the homemade chili oil with curry powder is the key to its flavor, and the minced meat is also seasoned with curry powder, giving the dish a strong flavor.
It is a limited dish served only at Takenoyama Store, Umemorizaka Store, Chayagasaka Store and Kamishidami Store from February 1, 2019. We recommend you to visit the restaurant to enjoy the curry as soon as possible since it is offered for a limited amount!
