These past few years, decorative ice cream has continued to evolve and grow more popular among tourists and locals in Japan, especially in the city of Osu. In this article, we introduce some of the most famous shops found that serve delicious and Instagram-worthy ice cream in the area.
FUWA CANDY STORE
The FUWA CANDY STORE is the very first shop that introduced rolled ice cream to the Nagoya food scene. It’s also known for its Ice Cream Tacos (¥600), which are essentially rolled ice cream encased in a taco-like shell. The store, including its colorful desserts, are worth taking lots of photos of.
Try the shop’s Cotton Candy (¥500).
Long lines usually form in front of the counter during the weekends.

Dobutsuen (the Japanese word for zoo) is an animal-themed ice cream specialty shop that’s located in the same building as the FUWA CANDY STORE. Here, you can choose from six different types of Dobutsu Ice Cream (¥500), including their pig and panda designs.

SHERIE’S ICECREAM is a specialty shop that serves sweet and colorful toppings on top of their richly flavored ice cream in a cup. You can customize your dessert by choosing from 12 ice cream flavors and 20 different toppings. However, if you’re not sure about what you want to order, you can also try one of their eight highly recommended menu items.
The Pink-genic ice cream is very Instagrammable.
Among the shop’s recommendations is the Pink-genic (¥590), which is a pastel-colored marble and strawberry ice cream topped with whipped cream and cookies that resembles a parfait.
