In Japan, you can have different flavors of KitKat for merienda. One of the places where you can get these chocolate-coated wafers is at the KitKat Chocolatory in Ginza, Tokyo.
Nestlé KitKat's café-slash-specialty store sells one-of-a-kind products that make use of carefully selected materials and a new manufacturing method under the supervision of top patisserie chef Yasumasa Takagi. A whopping 1.7 million visitors have dropped by the store since it opened in January 2014.
The main branch in Ginza, which is also their flagship store, has opened a cafe that offers menus, services, and projects that customers would love.
When you’re there, get a slice of the KitKat Chocolatory Gateau Mignon (¥1,458 for three pieces). It took more than a year and countless attempts to make this KitKat-shaped cake in order to strike a balance between the crunchiness of the chocolate-coated wafers and the moistness of the fondant chocolate.
Their latest exclusive product on the menu, Below Freezing Point Chocolate, is a sweet matcha-flavored ice wafer bar with special assorted chilled Moleson. You might also want to try the mouthwatering KitKat Chocolate Parfait (¥1,080), a delightful mix of chocolate fondant, ice, fruit, and cacao.
