There's nothing quite like the sound of chicken sizzling on the grill!

How to get there: It’s a 2-minute walk from JR and Keikyu Kawasaki Station
Last February 26, Tori Yakiniku Birdon, a restaurant that specializes in grilled chicken, opened at Honobono Yokocho on the side of Kawasaki Station. Here, you can enjoy 13 types of grilled Muneniku (breast), Seseri (neck), Sunagimo (gizzard), Yagen Nankotsu (beveled cartilage), Bonjiri (tail), and other familiar Yakitori dishes (single dishes start at ¥410).
The restaurant’s specialty dish is the Meibutsu! Tori Gyeopsal (Korean barbecue chicken), which is grilled chicken wrapped in vegetables. In addition to this, the Caesar Salad (¥518) and Noko Toripaitan Ramen (ramen with chicken-bone soup) (¥626) are also available in the menu.
The grilled chicken is cooked on an electric griddle and is cut into suitable sizes for eating.
The restaurant also has a Tare BAR (sauce bar) which allows you to create your own sauce and choose from 12 kinds of sauces including sweet sauce, sesame oil, wasabi, plum sauce, grated ginger curry salt sauce, salsa, and fresh coriander sauce. You enjoy these sauces with your grilled chicken dish.
Try combining the different sauces and see which of them go best with your order.
Another specialty dish of the restaurant is the Jikasei Tsukune (homemade chicken meatballs). Minced chicken and other ingredients are mixed together in a bowl and grilled on an electric griddle to create this dish. It comes in five variants such as Shio Tsukune (salt, ¥410), Cheese Tsukune (¥464), and Umeshiso Tsukune (ume vinegar, ¥464).
To make Umeshiso Tsukune, mix all the ingredients before grilling them on the electric griddle. It becomes even more delicious if you add a topping called Tsukimi-tare (¥54).
The restaurant’s signature Meibutsu! Tori Gyopusaru (¥842) is inspired by the Samgyeopsal. Through this dish, you can enjoy grilled chicken wrapped in lettuce and add toppings like perilla, kimchi, garlic, leeks, and garlic-flavored miso. It is highly recommended for people who love eating vegetables.
Meibutsu! Tori Gyopusaru is sliced after being grilled and eaten with vegetables, kimchi, and garlic-flavored miso.
One of the good things about this restaurant is that you can grill and eat chicken however you please.
At Honobono Yokocho, there are many taverns which you can include in your pub-crawl. Among them are a motsu-yaki restaurant and wine bar.
The restaurant has a retro atmosphere reminiscent of the Showa era.
It is located on the left side when you enter Honobono Yokocho.
