This Pokemon Collection from Japan Is the Cutest Thing in Streetwear News Today
Gotta catch 'em all!
Contemporary streetwear brand New Era recently released the second collection from their headwear collaboration with Pocket Monster. The first wave, which was released in September, attracted huge public attention. Here’s a quick look at the new collection:
The 59FIFTY cap that bears the arched Pocket Monster logo is an iconic New Era design. (¥5,500, excluding tax). Check out the back, which has an embroidered monster ball. Watch for the children’s version of this cap called Kid’s 59 FIFTY.
59FIFTY (¥5,500, excluding tax). This design comes from Pocket Monster’s Pokemon League, a battle league for trainers who have won as GYM leaders in each area. On the right side, the caps are printed with badges of GYM leaders in the Kanto area of the Pocket Monster world.
Popular Pokemon character caps known as 59 FIFTY are also available for sale. The index number of each Pokemon is embroidered on the back. The Mew 59FIFTY is made from glossy enamel fabric. Be on the lookout for the children’s version, Kid’s 59 FIFTY, as well.
New Era also added a new item to the 9 FIFTY series, which has similar design with 59 FIFTY, with a cap that says MASALA TOWN. Masala Town is the place where the main character of Pokemon, Satoshi or Ash, comes from. The design of the cap is all white, which is inspired by a signboard located in Masala Town, which says “Masala is the color of pure-white beginning.”
These headwears are available at their stores in Japan. Check them out on your next trip!
