Hokkaido Lifestyle Store Is Your Go-To Place for Souvenirs
Hokkaido Kurashi Hyakkaten
NORBESA 1F, 5-1 3 Jo, Chuo-ku, Sapporo-shi, Hokkaido
Open from 10 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Hokkaido Kurashi Hyakkaten or Hokkaido Lifestyle Store first opened its doors in June of this year under the "Let's Live with Hokkaido" initiative. With around 1,500 food and craft items that are made specially with Hokkaido materials on display, the store has called upon celebrities called "selectors" to curate the collection, as well as provide detailed explanations and product backgrounds.
Inside, the store has miscellaneous goods, fresh vegetables, a food museum, an event space, and a kitchen and deli.
Items made by food companies in Hokkaido are all lined up in the food museum—from ready-to-eat meals to ordinary seasonings such as salt and soy sauce.
The event space is also set up inside the store. Here, local governments, companies, organizations, and others regularly hold various events.
Fresh Hokkaido vegetables from HUG mart and Sapporo's rare vegetables are lined up in the fresh vegetable section, along with the photo of the producer.
Besides shopping, you can also enjoy meals at Kitchen and Deli. The dining lounge offers a variety of dishes that are prepared using Hokkaido ingredients. You can enjoy delicatessen for lunch, and drinks at night. There are 70 seats available in the store, but there is a standing drinking area, too.
The takeout corner is where you can eat, drink soft cream, and coffee. Benches are installed nearby—perfect for people who want to take a break.
