Japan Just Created a Pocket-Sized Pikachu Robot

It answers when spoken to!

Pokemon
fans, here's your chance to live with your very own Pikachu. Takara Tomy has just released HelloPika (¥2,990), a pocket-sized Pikachu robot that answers when spoken to.

Saying "Hello Pika" will trigger the robot to turn toward your voice and respond by either answering back, singing songs, going into attack position (Thunderbolt), nodding, and by saying, "Pika Pika!" or "Pika-pi!"

With cheeks that also light up, HelloPika laughs when you tickle its tummy. Because the robot responds to sound, it can be enjoyed by a wide range of people regardless of language barrier and age--whether they're children or adults who have grown up with Pokemon.

The HelloPika can fit inside a shirt pocket!

HelloPika is about 10 cm and can fit inside your pocket. Both of its arms are designed to be hooked like a clip. It's also battery-operated, so you can enjoy going out together with your beloved Pikachu.

Check out TOMY's official online store, Takaratomy Mall (takaratomymall.jp), today!
