Haneda Airport’s Latest Limited Edition Food Souvenirs Are So Kawaii

We want them all!


In the past few years, 
Haneda Airport has become a popular place to do your last-minute pasalubong shopping. More recently, it's become a place where you can score items that are exclusively sold there.


Below, we list down eight of the best food souvenirs you can buy from the different shops at the airport.

The "Gold Castella Airplane" (¥1,350) from 
MAMEYA KANAZAWA BANKYU is a limited-edition item from the shop's "Gold Castella" line. They particularly make use of "Egg Royal", which has a rich yellow yolk, in creating the fluffy and moist chiffon.


Aside from this, the castella has a shiny, traditional gold leaf on its surface where an airplane is carved. You can try munching along the cut out to make an airplane castella.

Anniversary
is a shop that makes sweets for different occasions or celebrations. Their featured product is the limited-edition "Drawing Macaron" (¥1,404), which comes in cute panda, frog, airplane, and Tokyo Skytree designs.


Their flavors include framboise, vanilla, chocolate, pistachio, and orange. To add to its taste, chocolate ganache is sandwiched between the macarons.


While the shop's macarons are exceptionally crunchy, you won't have to worry about crushing them when you bring the souvenir back home since they don't easily crumble.

ANA FESTA's
"Roasted Marshmallow S'MORE" (8 pieces for ¥1,296) consists of cream cheese, rich roasted chocolate, marshmallow, and Belgian couverture chocolate in a crispy whole-grain tarte.


The s'mores have a soft and creamy texture which you'll appreciate alongside the crispiness of the tarte. The roasted flavor of the marshmallow also adds to the reasons why they've become a popular souvenir since having been made available at the airport.

The "Haneda Airport Toys Sweets Can Arare" (¥540 each) is an original product of the Haneda Airport in collaboration with the world-famous tin toy collector, 
Teruhisa Kitahara. The cans, in which the arare (Japanese cube rice crackers) are stored, are colorful and not to mention, very kawaii. The images on the can feature some of the girls' toys in Kitahara's collection.

The cans come in three cute colors - pink, yellow, and green. Aside from this, they're also very light and easy to carry around. Kids will definitely love the colorful designs of this souvenir item.


Ginza Matsuzaki Senbei (PIER 1)

Ginza Matsuzaki Senbei's
"Kometsubu Senbei Assort" (includes 36 pieces, ¥2,592) is a unique type of traditional rice cracker which originated from the Edo period. The shop has been in business since 1804 and has kept up the tradition by adopting the period's taste in creating their products.


The rice crackers are made using non-glutinous domestic rice which are then fried in a furnace. The assorted rice cracker set includes three flavors - original, soy sauce, and red miso sprinkled with black sesame.


La Maison Shirokane (PIER 4)

La Maison Shirokane's
"BAKED CHOCOLAT (Blue)" (includes 6 pieces, ¥1,080) consists of baked chocolate sandwiched between two crispy pies. The souvenir item is available in three flavors - baked white chocolate with coconut, baked chocolate with salty almond praline, and baked white chocolate with lemon powder.


What's great about these treats is that the chocolate fillings do not melt. You can enjoy eating them without having to worry about getting your hands messy.

The "HANEDA SKY ALE", which is made by the popular Tokyo craft beer store, 
T.Y. HARBOR BREWERY, is available at the Tokyo Food Products Gate CYou can get two bottles, inclusive of a cool bag, for only ¥1,540.


While this drink is the perfect 
pasalubong for people who love alcohol, non-beer lovers will enjoy it as well since it only has a low alcohol percentage and it does not taste too bitter.

The "Luxury Selection MAPLE LANGUE DE CHAT" (6 pieces, ¥1,080) was made by 
Hidemasa Yamamoto, a prominent chef known for preparing inauguration dinners for American presidents.


This souvenir item features three flavors of chocolate sandwiched in maple sugar-flavored cookie dough. You can choose from matcha chocolate with bean paste, white chocolate with Maldon salt, and yogurt chocolate with fennel seeds.
