Here’s What You Can Expect From Hakone’s First-Ever Yunessun Autumn Festival 2019

Fee: ¥2,500 for Yunessun, ¥1,500 for Morinoyu, ¥3,500 for a Passport (Yunassan & Morinoyu)
How to get there: It is a 20-minute walk from Hakone Yumoto Station. There is also a free shuttle bus from Hakone Tozan Railway Gora Station.
During the autumn season when a lot of tourists come flocking in, Hakone Kowakien Yunessun will be having the Autumn in Hakone! Yunessun Autumn Festival 2019 for the first time ever. So pack your bags and fly to Hakone this fall and discover what makes this place so popular during autumn.
A superb view at the open-air bath in outdoor area of ??Yunessun, where you can enjoy bathing while overlooking the Hakone outer ring mountain.
The open-air bath in Yunessun, where you can enjoy constantly flowing hot springs boasts a panoramic view of the Hakone outer ring mountain. The bathtub is 40 meters long so you can enjoy the view together with a large number of people. The best time to see the autumn leaves of Hakone Gairinzan is from early November to mid-November.
Morinoyu on the other hand is a separate hot spring facility for men and women. In this hot spring facility, you can enjoy eight different types of baths including a private bath and a sauna. During this season, some areas of the garden’s open-air bath are naturally decorated with autumn leaves. In addition to this, during October and November, Ringonoyu (apple bath) will be made available. Morinoyu entrance fee is ¥1,500.

For a limited time period during the event, an English-style bath is also available in Midori no terrace in Yunessun. You can enjoy your visit by relaxing in hot springs of black tea that would surely remind you of a tea party.
Beaujolais Nouveau bath
A bath that is only limited during the autumn festival.
Beaujolais Nouveau bath is a special bath held every year at Yunessun at the time of the Beaujolais Nouveau release on November 21. You can enjoy the autumn facilities of the Beaujolais Nouveau until the 30th of November.
A tasting event will also be held on the opening day of Beaujolais release.
Autumn Food Fair
Don’t miss out on the delicious food during your trip here. Seasonal ingredients such as mushrooms, chestnuts, and sweet potatoes are available in restaurants from the Autumn Food Fair like the Italian restaurant Ante Paste, the lunch buffet restaurant Hakone Kowakien Daimonji Terrace, and Hakone Kowakien Sweets & Bakery.
In Ante Pasta, try the Saba to Kinoko no Wafu Pizza (Japanese mackerel and mushroom pizza, ¥1,600), and Ebi to Kinoko no Ahijo (shrimp and mushrooms Ajillo, ¥980) combination.
Lunch buffet restaurant Daimonji Terrace serves about 60 different kinds of Japanese and Western dishes. In September, you can enjoy the 90 min all-you-can-eat meals such as matsutake mushroom rice, chirashi sushi, and seasonal pasta. The price is ¥2,500 for an adult.
High quality breads and homemade cakes are popular at Sweets & Bakery. Try some new autumn Murasakiimo to Hachimitsu no Pan (purple sweet potato and honey bread, ¥200) and Marron Bread (chestnut bread, ¥250).
At the fast food crepe Himawari, the topical tapioca drink is highly recommended. Arrangement from the right, milk tea, blue raspberry, mango calpis, matcha milk, strawberry milk. All of these are sold for ¥520 each.
Hakone Trick Art Labyrinth Museum in Hakone Kowakien Yunessun
Hakone Trick Art Labyrinth Museum is open for a limited time only until January 13, 2020. You can bring your smartphone, camera, or a video camera, and take a lot of pictures. Admission fee is ¥700 for adults, ¥500 for elementary school students, and free for preschoolers. The admission fee to Yunessun is not included.
More than 20 trick artworks using optical illusion are gathered in this museum.
Other fun activities are the walking events offered. The hiking departs from Yunessun and goes through Horaien and Senjonotaki. In this activity you can climb to the top of Mt. Asama while enjoying a peaceful ridge walk. With a guide from an alpine club who knows all about Hakone, beginners are assured of their safety during their walk. After returning to Yunessun in about three hours, you can take a bath in Morinoyu to refresh yourself once more for the rest of the day.
