This Light Show in Yokohama Lets You Be Part of the Show With Your Smartphone

Try it!

Nothing says the holidays quite like a magical light show can. The night art program called
NIGHT SYNC YOKOHAMA is held in Minato Mirai, Yokohama until December 27. The program is hosted by Creative Light Yokohama Executive Committee and is held in the Shinko area, centered on Shinko Central Plaza. Synchronizing the beautiful illumination with the light of the city creates a new attraction in the night of Yokohama.

You’ll find the main area decorated with media art, and illumination at the Shinko Central Plaza from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is a video device that uses projection and sensing technology (a technology that senses and controls the state of people and things) and projects digital content that can be experienced interactively. At the planting part of the plaza, trees will be lit up with flower illumination and more than 50 full-color floodlights.

Special performances at Shinko area together with other eight facilities in Yokohama

Experience an illumination you have never seen before

There is a special lighting that lasts about 10 minutes in the surrounding area four times a day (6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m., 9 p.m.). There is simultaneous color lighting of the building wall. A dynamic light and music production will be performed in conjunction with the illumination and video of Shinko Central Plaza. This is a joint project with eight facilities, including Yokohama World Porters, Yokohama Cosmo World, and Yokohama Hammerhead. This production on a city scale by managing many LED lights at once is an unprecedented attempt.

The program that anyone can enjoy regardless of gender, age or nationality

In addition, the latest
WebAR technology is used for special effects. Watch as the scene comes alive once you interact with the illumination using your smartphone. Sounds cool, right?

WebAR technology synchronizes the real night view with the extended world.

NIGHT SYNC YOKOHAMA is definitely the newest must-visit night attraction in Yokohama. Experience the premium production that combines beautiful night view, illumination, and projection mapping.
