You Should See This Frost-Covered Land in Japan Lit Up At Night
Catch it from December 28 to February 29!
The Juhyo (soft rime) Light-up will be held from December 28, 2019 to February 29, 2020 along the Zao Ropeway Jizosancho Line and the surrounding area of Jizosancho Station in Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture.
The natural and beautiful rime is brightly lit.
The soft rime at Jizosancho Station (1,661 meters altitude), the last stop on the Zao Ropeway, is lit with colorful lights. It creates a fantastic scenery in contrast to the silvery snow. Since schedules may vary, it’s best to check the official website before visiting the place.
The rime can be seen on the entire slope of the west side of Jizosan, which is 1,736 meters high.
A representative of the light-up event said, “The soft rime, which sparkles on a clear and sunny day, is also worth seeing at night. We recommend viewing it while sipping on warm drinks at the mountain peak restaurant inside the Jizosancho Station.”
Since the temperature can drop below negative 10 degrees, make sure you wear something that will keep you warm.
