Itinerary Guide: Go Strawberry Picking and Relax at Private Hot Springs Near Fukuoka

Even if you’ve already gone before, strawberry or ichigo picking evolves every year with more activities to do and new kinds of strawberries you can pick. In this article, we walk you through the latest information on farmhouses and other places to visit that are only 60 minutes away from the city of Fukuoka.
Start your day by picking strawberries at Ichigo Kirari
Tanaka Seigo, who used to work in the music industry, produces 7 kinds of popular strawberries in this farm that is about 2,500 square meters big. By using only half of the required pesticides of the prefecture’s criteria, this farm is a certified Fukuoka Eco Produce.
Awayuki is a rare white strawberry that is included in their all-you-can-eat options with an additional ¥700. They also produce Strawberry Butter (¥900) which is butter with added sweetness of strawberry, and Strawberry Jam (¥700).

Ichigo Kirari is located at 2414 Kitanomachinaka, Kurume City, Fukuoka. You may contact them at +81-80-3379-4115. They are open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The farm is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Enjoy 40 minutes of all-you-can-eat strawberry picking at ¥1,900 yen per middle school student and older, ¥1,500 per elementary school student, ¥1,100 yen per 3 year-olds and older, and free for 2 year-olds and younger.
Get your fill of yummy food at Cafe style
Cafe style is a US west coast styled café that opened last April 2019. There are various dishes to choose from on their menu such as Pasta Lunch (¥1,280) made with ingredients locally produced in Kyushu. It’s a relaxing place to dine in with a comfortable interior.

Get afternoon snacks at Gu Choki Panya
This shop has been running for 26 years already located on a road approaching Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. They always have about 60 kinds of bread available made with flour produced in Japan with Shirakami Kodama Yeast. They offer a variety of bread like Goro Goro Kurumi (Walnut) Bread (¥170, the front left in photo), and Koro Koro Cheese France (¥170, front right in photo) which would make it difficult for you to choose which one to get.

Visit the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine
This shrine built in 1054 worships Sugawara no Michizane from Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in Kyoto. On site, there is also a plum tree of the god called Shinbai.

End your day by relaxing at the Natural Hot Spring Keika no Yu
Natural Hot Spring Keika no Yu was made by equipping a hot spring that comes out in a private house. About 200 liters of alkali hot spring flows out every minute and goes straight into the tub. There are available lockers and lounges for you to rest. If you plan on dropping by, make sure to bring your own soap.

Natural Hot Spring Keika no Yu is located at 2213-1 Kitanomachi-juromaru, Kurume City, Fukuoka. You may contact them at +81-942-78-6991. They are open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The hot spring is closed on Sundays. ¥400 yen per elementary school student and older, and free for two kids under elementary school per group.
