Mirai on Library has a shipyard theme that fits Nagasaki

Omura City Library and Nagasaki Prefectural Library worked together to build a new facility called
Mirai on Library. It is designed like a huge shipyard that holds more than 2 million books, which is considered as the largest collection in Kyushu. The extensive browsing area that includes a children’s room gives you abundant space to read. Omura City History Museum is attached to the facility.

Stroll along the glittering coast of the glass beach

The glass beach is a famous spot for taking pictures. On the coast overlooking Nagasaki Airport, the beach stretches for 200 meters with colorful glass made of recycled sand scattered all over. There are only a few algae at the beginning of spring, so you can definitely see through the water clearly. The view changes depending on the time of day and the weather, so you always have something new to look forward to.

The glass beach is located at 1484 Morizonomachi, Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture. You may contact Nagasaki Regional Environment Division at +81-95-895-2355 for more information.
