Tensodo Cave is designated as a National Natural Monument.
Go around the Nishi Izu sea like Dogashima Island on a sightseeing boat. Don’t miss the magical atmosphere of Tensodo Cave.
At Sanshiro Island, tombolo phenomena can be seen, and the bottom of the sea can be clearly seen during low tide connecting the island with the main.
Dogashima Tensodo Cave is especially popular in Dogashima Island, a rias coastline where you can enjoy great scenery. You can get here by Dokutsu Meguri sightseeing boat course at Dogashima Marine. There are holes in the cliff similar to a beehive, and a natural skylight is near the middle of the cliff. Light comes through and illuminates the sea making it look magical.
Dogashima Tensodo Cave (Dogashima Marine) is located at 2060 Nishina, Nishi Izu-cho, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture and is open from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (schedule vary per season). Fall in love with the famous actor Kayama Yuzo

Kayama Yuzo Museum is next to the Dogashima Marine. The exhibits displayed are related to Kayama Yuzo, an actor and singer who loves Nishi Izu and Dogashima Island. You can also see his private photos, films, guitar, and about 40 paintings of Nishi Izu scenery made by him.

Enjoy Nishi Izu local food at fishing port restaurants
Okiagari Shokudo is next to the fishing port and run by the fishery cooperative. Rice bowls with plenty of squid by pole-and-line fishing are very popular. If your timing is good, you can have Squid Ikizukuri, which is sashimi fresh from the fishing boat. Yuhidon (¥900) is a delicious rice bowl with plenty of squid sashimi pickled in their original sauce.

Shio Katsuo Udon is an udon bowl with shio katsuo (salt-pickled bonito) which is said to be the original form of dried bonito flakes.
Kawazuya Shokudo is also a great place if you want to enjoy local food. There are about 130 items on the menu like the Shio Katsuo Udon (¥550) and Kaizoku Yaki (¥700) to choose from.

Umibe no Kakure Yu Seiryu
Have a relaxing time and enjoy the beautiful ocean view from the outside bath.
Umibe no Kakure Yu Seiryu is located on a cliff near the ocean. Here, you can enjoy the bath without the need to stay. With the great view of Suruga bay and Sanshiro Island from the cliff, you will feel like the waves are coming right at you in the outside bath.
Umibe no Kakure Yu Seiryu is located at 2941 Nishina, Nishi Izu-cho, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture and they are open daily from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for day trip bathing. Bathing fee is ¥1,000 per adult. You may contact them at +81-558-52-1118.
Marvel at rare rocks that float in the sunset view

Offshore, there is Tagojima Island that looks like it has two big and small bumps and a Godzilla-shaped rock.
Otago Kaigan Coast is one of Japan’s 100 Most Beautiful Sunsets and is especially popular in Nishi Izu with so many other great places. When the sunset colors the sky and sea, you might be able to see the silhouettes of small islands, rocks, and fishing boats. Capture this magnificent view by snapping some photos. Or, you can also choose to live in the moment and just enjoy the serene atmosphere of the beautiful setting sun surrounded by rare rocks.
