USJ has been temporarily closed since February 29. Since the state of emergency was declared by the government of Osaka on May 4, they announced the closing of the park. The reopening was announced since the state of emergency and business suspension requests to major facilities have been lifted.

Beginning June 19, visitors will be limited to those living in Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Shiga, Nara, and Wakayama. Day tickets will not be sold at the ticket booths at the entrance, so you will need an annual pass or an advance ticket with the date of entrance selected.

As for the reopening, cleaning, sanitizing, social distancing, and ventilating will be done thoroughly. Also, “OSAKA COVID-19 Tracing System” will be introduced and visitors’ email addresses will be registered to the system when entering the park and restaurants using QR codes.
