Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo
2-10-8 Sekiguchi, Bunkyo District, Tokyo
Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo holds an annual firefly viewing event during the start of the summer season (around June) in Japan. The event started back in 1954 with the idea that they wanted to show fireflies to children in Tokyo. Around late June to early July, people enjoy seeing the fireflies reared in the garden and in the biotope of the hotel where a total of about 10,000 fireflies fly.

During this event, the hotel also offers firefly-inspired seasonal cakes for take-out: The Blueberry Tart (¥650), where you can enjoy the harmony of two textures, and the Fromage Cru (¥660), which resembles a rich rare cheesecake inspired with fireflies’ glow. At the restaurant of the hotel, they also offer a luxurious dinner plan that you can enjoy while watching fireflies.
Desserts are available for a limited period.
Hotel guests can enjoy the magical dance of the glowing fireflies at a Private Hotel Night where only five pairs of people will only be allowed to walk around the garden after its closing hours.
Forget about the day to day hustle and immerse yourself in a majestic world even for a while.
On the website and social media accounts of Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, they are sharing videos and images of the flight of fireflies so you can watch them while you are at home.
