The Harry Potter Ride in Universal Studios Japan Just Got An Upgrade
For starters, you can say goodbye to 3D glasses.
Universal Studios Japan
2-1-33 Sakurajima, Konohana Ward, Osaka City
Open daily but hours differ depending on the day.
Fee: ¥7,900 for adults
How to get there: It’s a 3-minute walk from JR Universal City Station.
For the past five years, the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey Complete Edition ride has been dubbed the best ride in Universal Studios Japan. And now that new updates have been rolled out, fans of the ride can expect to have an even more magical experience.
While the story hasn’t changed, the visual effects team has made everything amazingly clear and smooth, giving the 3D images more depth. In fact, there’s no need to wear 3D glasses anymore.
The tweaks in visual effects also mean that everything is now doubly realistic. A fire-breathing dragon hits you with “flames,” and when Dementors approach, you’ll actually feel cold air wrapping around your whole body.
This is an experience every Harry Potter fan should have at least once in their life!
