Open daily from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (reception is open until 5 p.m.)
How to get there: It's 8 minutes by foot from Hankyu Katsura Station.

Kyoto Pug Café Living Room is run by a husband and wife team that heads the Kyoto Pug Association, a group that loves pugs. Here, you can play with 12 pugs that are seven months old to 12 years old.

This is one of the largest pug cafes in Japan. On days with eight and nine, called 89 (Pug) Days (89 can be pronounced pa gu in Japanese), the entrance fee is free for people who bring their dogs. You may also get small presents.

Each pug's wrinkles and colors are different.

Cheese Time is when staff members give the pugs treats.

This is Mr. Kitayama, his wife, and his 11-month-old son, Rimu.

This is Acchan (10 years old, female), a very small pug. Her uniform number is two. She's beautiful with her shiny fur.

This is Pudding (10 years old, female). Her number is three. She's gentle and loves to sit on people's laps.

This is Mei (four years old, female), with exceptionally white fur. Her uniform number is five, and she's called sweet and sour for a reason!
