This Light Show in Japan Looks Like the Northern Lights

There are giant lanterns and cakes, too!

Winter in Japan just isn’t complete without an illumination event. In Ito City, people are flocking to
Izu Granpal Park for the Izu Kogen Granillumi. It’s now on its fourth year and features a dream-like aurora borealis show called Bridge to Excitement.

With so many decorations, it is like entering a picturesque world

Once you pass through a rainbow tunnel called
Rainbow Gate and Unicorn, you’ll see a fantastic illumination installation called Happy Day. Stay for the three light shows that last 10 minutes each.

The world-class giant cake and candy lanterns

The third year’s
Sweets Lantern Area features a giant cake and candy lanterns that will make you feel like a dwarf that wandered into a fantasy world.

This sparkling gazebo was even featured in the movie, Haru Matsu Bokura.

The renewed zip line is sparklier than ever.

For ¥1,200, you can even take a zip line that lets you fly through a popular and colorful illumination sky.
