Osaka Castle


There’s a lot to see and do on the grounds of this popular landmark first built in 1583. You can
explore the gardens (it’s a well-visited site for cherry blossom viewing in springtime), ride a
golden wasen (wooden boat) along the moat, or discover the castle’s tumultuous past by going
up the central tower.

9am to 5pm except December 28 to January 1. You can contact them at +81-6-6941-3044 or
visit their website. You can go down at Osakajokoen Station (JR West Osaka Loop Line) or Tanimachi Yonchome Station (Tanimachi and Chuo subway lines) and make your way by foot.


Umeda Sky Building


This 568-feet structure is an architectural wonder consisting of two 40-story buildings connected at the top. See a stunning 360-degree view of the entire city from high above the Kuchu Teien Observatory on the 39th level. If you’re traveling with your partner, go at night to see the twinkling night lights, sit on a heart-shaped deck, and place a heart lock to celebrate your bond.

website. You can either alight at JR Osaka Station, Hankyu Umeda Station, or Osaka Metro Umeda Station then walk all the way to the Umeda Sky Building.


Dotonbori


Get your fill of authentic Japanese fare such as takoyaki and okonomiyaki from the numerous stalls and restaurants located in this famed food district. Gracing the building facades are neon- lit, over-the-top signage all clamoring for customers’ attention. Not to be missed is a snapshot with the popular Glico Running Man billboard from the Ebisu Bridge!

You can reach Dotonbori via a short walk from Namba Station (Subway Midosuji Line Exit No.14), Sennichimae Line (Nankai railway), or Osaka Namba Station (Kintetsu railway).

Kuromon Ichiba Market


This 580-meter-long indoor market sells a variety of fresh produce and seafood ranging from raw sushi to pickled vegetables to colorful blooms. Kuromon Ichiba has been christened as “Osaka’s Kitchen” since it has been serving the local community for over 190 years. With over 150 stalls to choose from, foodies will enjoy taking pictures of the sumptuous eats and filling their bellies afterwards.
