How to get there: It is within the area of Minato Mirai Line Minato Mirai Station, Bashamichi Station, Nihon-Odori Station or JR Sakuragicho Station.
The annual event Pikachu Outbreak parade will happen this year from August 6 to 12, 2019 in Yokohama’s Minato Mirai area.
Now on its 6th year, more than 2,000 Pikachus will be showing their performance applying the latest technology at the beautiful night scene of Minato Mirai every night starting from 7 p.m.
Check out what you can expect to see from the different designated spots in Minato Mirai.
LED Lights on Pikachu
In collaboration with m plus plus Co., Ltd., a Japanese creative company that produces concerts of famous artists and specializes on spatial designs, the team of Pikachu will be performing at the Grand Mall Park with the full use of the latest LED technology. While in front of the Yokohama Museum of Art, you will see Pikachus on LED lighted costumes and accessories with the museum’s façade displayed with projection mappings.
Pikachu with Water
At the Yokohama Akarenga (Red Brick Warehouse), you will witness a giant fountain light show together with the dancing Pikachus. It is a rare sight with the lighted Yokohama Bay Bridge scene as their beautiful backdrop.
The Largest Pikachu Performance Ever
A grand performance of 50 Pikachus will be happening at the Rinko Park which sets the record as the largest ever.
Pikachu and Eevee Parade
As it gained popularity from last year, a parade of Eevee’s will be seen again at daytime, while Pikachu’s will be at night time.
When you’re at the Minato Mirai area, have your camera at the ready to snap as different Pokémons will be anywhere in the area.
