teamLab, the ever-popular art collective group that has held numerous tie-up exhibitions in Tokyo, is finally expanding to a solo exhibition to Kanazawa City in Ishikawa Prefecture this August 2019.
teamLab: Impermanent Flowers Floating in a Continuous Sea will be held at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa from August 9 (Friday) to September 1 (Sunday).
The exhibit incorporates an installation of one continuous wave called Black Waves: Lost, Immersed and Reborn, another of space that continues to change with the actions of the visitors called Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity, Cannot be Controlled but Live Together, a spatial calligraphy (called kusho) that reconstructs Japanese calligraphy in 3D space called Reversible Rotation - Black in White, and flowers created by visitors coming to life, appearing on the wall and growing called Graffiti Flowers Bombing.
In this exhibit, teamLab lets the visitors change the artwork and blend theirs into it, changing the boundaries between the creators and the viewers, and breaking that barrier to create a homogenous relationship.
