This Place in Japan Has the Most Scenic Seaside Views

Bask in the sun and cool sea breeze!

The fresh, green color of the mountains and the clear, blue hue of the seas usually indicate the start of the summer season in Japan. If you’re looking to go on a relaxing drive near the sea, we recommend you visit Shimonoseki City in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The place has plenty of Instagram-worthy spots, including the Tsunoshima and Motonosumi Shrine, and even has an aquarium where you can watch cute dolphins!

Check out our itinerary below!

Cross the sea through the 1,780-meter-long Tsunoshima Bridge.

Tsunoshima Bridge

The
Tsunoshima Bridge is a bridge that connects Tsunoshima to the mainland. It has been a popular shooting location for many films and commercials. The unobstructed view of the vast sea on both sides will make you feel as if you’re driving on water. Depending on the time of day, the sea color changes from emerald green to a deep blue.
