Nagoya Has Some of the Most Fantastic Night Views
The city has its own charms.
Nagoya has some of the best night cityscapes in the country. All you'll be needing is a spot from which to view the twinkling city lights and dazzling starry skies.
Fortunately, the place also has a lot of sightseeing spots where you can easily admire the view. Check out these impressive summer night view sites below!
Midland Square Sky Promenade
At the Midland Square Sky Promenade, you'll be able to see the headlights of cars zooming down below and lights shining inside the tall skyscrapers. You'll also feel the cool night breeze at this outdoor observation facility.
Midland Square Sky Promenade is an observatory facility on the top floor of the tallest building in Tokai area. Located 220 meters above the ground, it offers a 360-degree view of the streets of Nagoya.
Colored mist is sprayed for five minutes in 30-minute intervals, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., to create a magical atmosphere. During the blue hour, which occurs after sunset when the sky is tainted blue, the night view around the Central Towers becomes even more beautiful.
Midland Square Sky Promenade is located at the 44th to 46th floors of Midland Square Sky Promenade 4-7-1 Meieki, Nakamura District, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture and is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. You may contact them at +81-52-527-8877. Admission Fee is ¥750 for 18 years and above.
Nagoya Port Building Observatory
The Nagoya Port Sea Train Land’s Ferris Wheel and Antarctic Research Ship Fuji create a stunning night scenery.
The Nagoya Port Building Observatory is located on the seventh floor of Nagoya Port Building. Located 53 meters above the ground, the observatory has a design inspired by a white sailboat floating on the sea.
Here, you'll be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Nagoya Port and get a glimpse of the lights on the surface of the sea. The sight becomes even more spectacular when there is a large ship docked at the port.
To fully enjoy the night view, we recommend you try the Nagoya Port Dinner Cruise, which lets you luxuriously dine inside a ship.
Nagoya Port Building Observatory is located at 1-9 Minatomachi, Minato District, Nagoya City and is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. except on Mondays (or the following day if it’s a Japanese holiday). You may contact them at +81-52-652-1111. Admission Fee is ¥300 for high school students and above.
Higashiyama Sky Tower
There are bench seats at the 360-degree observatory.
Higashiyama Sky Tower stands on a hill 80 meters above sea level. Since the observatory is located at an altitude of 180 meters above the ground, there are no buildings to block your view of the city. You can easily see Sakae and Meieki from this spot.
We also recommend you visit the place during sunset so you can see the sun setting slowly across the cluster of buildings around Meieki.
Higashiyama Sky Tower is located at 1-8, Tashiro-cho Kameiri, Chikusa District, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture and is open from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. except on Mondays (or the following day if it’s a Japanese holiday). You may contact them at 052-781-5586. Admission Fee is ¥300 for adults.
