Introducing the highlights this year of Tokyo Game Show, with a record of over 250,000 visits per year for the last 6 years in a row
As of June, the number of exhibitors for this year's game show is expected to surpass last year's, making the event larger than the largest-ever TGS 2018. Ms. Tsubasa Honda, a model and actress known to love games, has been chosen as one of the official supporters of the event to attract an even wider range of people to come and join in on the fun. Here, we introduce the highlights of TGS 2019.
Tokyo Game Show 2019’s theme is “One World, Infinite Joy”
This year’s theme is “One World, Infinite Joy.” Thanks to the remarkable advances in technology, games connect people all over the world in an instant, regardless of location or time. This year, TGS 2019 hopes that through games, whether as a friend or comrade, you can share a new experience or excitement by enjoying with others. And that it can strengthen connections between people and express the true value and possibility of games being more fun in nature.
You can experience the trendy games
At the venue, aside from the main General Exhibition Area, there is also the Smartphone Game Corner which focuses on smartphone/ tablet games, VR/AR Corner, and other areas. In the Family Game Park, only children under 15 and their accompanying guardians can enter the area, so it is a safe place for families. A part of the event hall and outdoor area has a food court, so you can eat and relax, too.

Aside from the gaming industry, there are also lecture programs focusing on new technologies such as the field of eSports, which is gaining a lot of attention; next generation communication system 5G; blockchain; AI (artificial intelligence); and more. There’s really something for everyone at TGS 2019.
A view of last year’s event
This event which started in 1996, has grown to an event of more than 250,000 visitors for six years in a row since 2013. There’s much more to be excited about at the Tokyo Game Show 2019, which has grown as the “world’s largest game show” expressing its presence to the world.
